Weinhold®
Compressed Air Valve
The Weinhold® compressed air valve is equipped with a pressure release, being automatically activated, when the valve is shut, and releasing quickly due to the specially designed large cross-sectional area. The ball is equipped with O-rings granting high leak-tightness and easy handling. No greasing is required. The long tap lever also allows easy operation. The Weinhold® compressed air valve can be equipped with a variety of inlet and outlet connections, customized to diverse customer needs, such as inside and outside threads, flanges, WE-ER® hose fittings, WE-ER® pipe couplings as well as claw-couplings or bulkhead unions. Due to its galvanic zinc-coating the Weinhold® compressed air valve is well-protected against corrosion. In addition to single valve executions we can also provide you with twin-valve executions (one inlet and two outlets) of the Weinhold® compressed air valve. It can also be supplied without pressure release and used for other fluids such as water or steam.
Weinhold®
Steam Valve
The Weinhold® steam valve is suitable for hot water and wet steam applications, but applicable for other fluids such as air, nitrogen and water as well. The design of the Weinhold® steam valve and numerous variants grant high safety, when working with steam, and multi-purpose applications; customized to diverse customer needs. The pressure release of the Weinhold® steam valve releases the pressure reverse side , when shutting the valve, thus permitting a safe opening of this side. The pressure release is available with either stainless steel capillary tube or cutting ring union. Housing and special ball are made of stainless steel, thrust ring of brass and further components of galvanised steel. Alternatively complete stainless steel executions (except brass thrust ring) are available. Sealing rings are made of viton and main seals with glass-fiber reinforced PTFE with stainless steel covering. The ball rests on two bearings, the shut-off lever is removable by 180°, thus allowing easy operation, even if space is tight. Inlet and outlet connections of the valve are up to your choice. WE-ER® hose fitting, Weinhold® steam union or WE-ER® pipe coupling can be used. Also a WE-ER® hose fitting according to VCI standard is available. To avoid opening during operation, the WE-ER® hose fitting can also be used in an immovable execution. The inlet side often has a flange DN 20 or DN 25. But also internal or outside threads are possible. The Weinhold® steam valve is designed for a max. pressure of 16 bar, an operation temperature up to 180°C, temporarily 210°C. A special type allows applications up to 235°C. The Weinhold® steam valve can also be supplied with a prolonged cover around the shaft (mostly in combination with a prolongation of the outlet side) for particular isolation requirements. It can also be equipped with a lever stop, to prevent the valve from unintentional opening.
Weinhold® Steam Valve with Scavenging Function
Functioning, components and connection types of the Weinhold® steam valve with scavenging function are nearly identical with that of Weinhold® steam valve. In addition there is another function: scavenging and drying of the pressure reverse side. Apart from positions “shut” and “open” the lever can be shifted to a third position: “scavenging”. After shutting the third position can be shifted. The subsequent air scavenging of the pressure reverse side via an additional connection may start. After completion the lever is to be removed to position “shut”. A lever stop protects the valve against unintentional opening and scavenging. Housing, special ball chick and chamber are made of stainless steel, the ball chick obtaining an additional surface finish; furthermore an extra brass back-up ring is mounted. Sealing rings are made of viton, main seals of glass-fiber reinforced PTFE with stainless steel covering. Available connections are those of Weinhold® steam valve, the additional scavenging connection is provided with an internal thread G 3/8 and an inside diameter of 8 mm. Thus the Weinhold® steam valve with scavenging function matches high technical requirements and a multitude of applications with high safety demands.
Weinhold®
Steam throttle
The Weinhold® steam throttle is used to throttle back the steam flow volume in steam line systems. The steam throttle provides dosing of the steam volume, thus avoiding pressure peaks and resultant temperature peaks. So the Weinhold® steam throttle offers excellent protection of seals and mechanical parts of succeeding equipment such as the Weinhold® steam valve. It is suitable for applications up to a maximum working pressure of 16 bar and an operating temperature of 180°C, temporarily up to 210°C. The throttling effect is produced by turning the outside part. With that the bore is shifted towards the inside flow passage in off-centre direction, thus resulting in a cross section reduction. But the Weinhold® steam throttle is no shutting element; even in minimum flow cross-section position some creeping steam may escape. The Weinhold® steam throttle is a solid and compact unity, which can be easily manipulated by hand. No additional tools are required. Its high leak-tightness prevents steam losses on the one hand and provides increased safety. By avoiding steam escapes, burns and scalds are prevented. To provide an even higher protection, the steam throttle is equipped with an additional thermal insulation cover on the outside. The parts cannot be turned apart totally, thus preventing an unwelcome falling apart of the whole throttle. An outside scale allows to adjust the passage opening continuously.
